Crop Assessment System (CAS) is Source's mobile tool for structured crop measurement. How a session works
The 4-step process is as follows:
1. Open CAS within the Source App
The home screen shows what's due today: which stems have open tasks, on which path, and how much of your sample is already covered. Nothing to plan, no list to reconstruct.
2. Scan the QR label
Every measurement stem and every truss carries its own QR label. Point the camera, and the app detects it automatically. Because the label identifies exactly which truss you're standing in front of, the app knows its stage in the crop cycle and opens the right task, starting with the photo.
3. Photograph, then log
First, take a photo of the truss. Then log what you see: flowers and set fruits, quality issues if there are any, and whether it is fully set once it reaches your pruning target. The app only asks what's relevant at that stage.
4. Automatic syncing
All data is saved on the phone the moment you enter it, then uploaded automatically once there's a signal. A full offline session is no problem. At the end, you see what you covered, and the observations flow straight into your harvest forecast and plant balance metrics.
