Every Pepper Forecast Number Is Now One You Can Trust

Pepper Harvest Expectations now shows n/a for weeks it cannot yet forecast, so every number on the page is one you can act on.

What's new

Harvest Forecast predicts from fruit that has already been set and measured, which gives each cultivation its own forecast horizon, determined by that cultivation's fruit set measurements and its variety's development time. Weeks beyond that horizon now display as n/a rather than a partial or zero figure, and are excluded from copy-to-expected and the commit action, so a plan can no longer include a week the model never forecast. Grower-entered rounds and fruit color remain editable for those weeks, since those are inputs rather than predictions.

What n/a means

n/a is not a zero and not a low harvest. It means the fruit for that week hasn't been set and measured yet, so there's nothing yet for the model to read. As the season progresses and new fruit set is recorded, those weeks fill in with real predictions. A tooltip on the page explains this wherever n/a appears.

Why it matters

Growers and sales teams can trust every number on the page. A low prediction now always means a low prediction, and a week can be committed directly from the page without first checking whether it fell inside the forecast horizon.
