Measure by Voice in the Mobile App, Even Offline

Speak your measurements as you take them, no free hand needed, and no signal required.

What's new

-Measure by voice: Read out loud vegetative measurements as you take them; the app records each value and moves on when you say "next". Unusual values are read back so you can check them.

-Works offline on Android: After a one-time language download, voice entry works without a connection.

-Measure in your own order: Arrange vegetative measurements in the order you walk the path. Voice pages follow the same order.

-Choose what you count on a truss: Head growers can switch on bud counting, and split the flower counter into open and closed flowers (tomato), per cultivation

Why it matters

A vegetative round means holding a caliper in one hand and a tape in the other. Voice entry lets growers record every reading hands-free and eyes-on-the-plant, keeping the round moving and the data clean. The new counting options capture more detail on flowering when you need it, and the forecast readiness card shows at a glance when you've measured enough stems.

How it works

Voice entry

-Update the Source app to version 1.4.2.

-Open a stem's vegetative measurements.

-Tap the mic beside Save or Next, and allow microphone access the first time.

-Read each value out as you take it, for example "nine point four".

-Say "next" or tap Next to move on: the next page is already listening.

-Tap the field any time to type instead.

On Android, the first use downloads the speech model for your language once (about 66 MB), so do it on Wi-Fi.

Counting options

-In the Source web app, open the cultivation's settings.

-In the Crop Assessment System card, turn on Count buds, Count open and closing flowers, or both.

-In the mobile app, open a truss - the counter shows the new stages.

-Review or correct open and closing counts on the web under Plant measurements.

Availability

Live now for tomato growers and head growers on mobile app 1.4.2 (iOS and Android). Voice entry works on iPhone, and on Android in Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish, Polish and Russian. Romanian works on iPhone only.
