Ethylene dosing now shapes your tomato forecast

Log your ethylene dosing in Ask Source, and your tomato harvest forecast brings the harvest of nearly ripe fruit forward.

What’s new

Each week in Harvest Expectations now has a Log ethylene dosing button. It opens Ask Source, where you describe your dosing the way you do it. Ask Source works out the saturated hours per night, the hours the ethylene is strong enough to speed up ripening, and shows them to you. Once you approve, Harvest Forecast brings forward the harvest of nearly ripe fruit, and the week gets an Ethylene tag.

Why it matters

Your ethylene dosing now counts in the forecast, in the weeks you use it to speed up harvest. You describe the dose in your own units, and Ask Source does the area, volume and ppm calculations for you. The Ethylene tag shows at a glance which weeks were dosed and for how long.

How it works

-Open a tomato cultivation and go to Harvest Expectations.

-On the week you dose, click Log ethylene dosing.

-Tell Ask Source the nights you dose, your dosing window and the dose: grams or kilograms of ethylene, liters of ethylene gas, or milliliters of ethanol for evaporators.

-Check the saturated hours per night that Ask Source shows. Nothing reaches the forecast until you approve them.

-After you approve, the week shows an Ethylene tag with the hours per night.

Availability

Available to all tomato growers, on the web. You can also log your dosing directly in Ask Source.
