Plant Balance as a KPI

With Source.ag, you can track plant balance for tomatoes and peppers using two weekly-updated metrics: Plant Balance Factor and Generative Trend Indicator, based on combined plant and climate values.

Plant Balance Factor (PBF)

Does your plant have enough assimilates to keep up with demand? PBF compares what your plant produces through photosynthesis (driven by light) with what it consumes through growth and fruit development. Above 0? Your plant has a surplus, and it's in a strong position. Below 0? Your plant is running short and may start to weaken.

Generative Trend Indicator (GTI)

Is your plant trending vegetative or generative? GTI tracks the direction your crop is moving week over week so you can respond before it goes too far.

Simulate Plant Balance within Cultivation Management

Within Cultivation Management, growers gain a powerful advantage: the ability to simulate their crop's future state, including the Plant Balance Factor. This allows you to test the impact of decisions like increasing pruning or adjusting temperature, understanding the potential effects on both yield and overall plant health before implementation.

(Only for tomatoes).
